The KATRINA human tragedy is a visible reminder to us all that human tragedies exist all over the world. Some of them even far greater than the losses in this hurricane. So often we are too busy to look---to wrapped up in our comforts to see and stand-up for others. Some from the tragedies are from natural disasters ----others are needless failures of leadership, greed and injustice.
We invite you to join with others around the world to honor the lives lost with our action and contributions, may we hold visions of safety and a home for our all our neighbors in need throughout the world.
I offer this prayer with my mind envisioning goodness for all of our neighbors around the world. May they find the home with their name on it --- a safe, warm sanctuary. See them in your heart is a warm safe place where they feel love and belonging:
We pray that each room in this house
will resound with the sounds of laughter and joyfulness,
that its sturdy structure
will shelter us from the elements
and be a refuge of peace from the trials of daily life.
We pray this house will become a beloved home
for all who live within its walls
and that constant faith and hopeful dreams
will always be part of its foundation.
